Every Child Ministries
Every Child Ministries exists to offer hope, practical help and dignity to African children and their families in the name of Jesus, with special emphasis on those who are broken or outcast for any reason - "the forgotten children of Africa."
Every Child Ministries started in 1985 in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Since that time we have branched out into Ghana and then Uganda. Ministries in each country are based on the need in that specific country. In Congo we help churches start Sunday Schools, have about 50 Teachers' Resource Libraries where teachers /churches can check out materials, and have a leadership training facility. In Ghana, we have a children's home, Haven of Hope, where we house children from vulnerable backgrounds, and the compound also has a school, Haven of Hope Academy, for both the Haven of Hope and village children. In Ghana we also have a child sponsorship Hope Center in an area prone to child trafficking, and one in an area that has numerous slave shrines. In Uganda, we work with many families still affected by Joseph Kony's war in the north, as well as kids in slums, kids with disabilities, and kids with albinism. Most of our programs in Uganda, as well as in Ghana, are supported by child sponsorship, which is $37/month and provides a personal relationship between the child and the sponsor. ECM also has missionaries in all three countries.
