GiveSafely.io is a program of the BBB Wise Giving Alliance (www.give.org). BBB Wise Giving Alliance (“BBB WGA,” “we,” “our,” “us”) is a standards-based charity evaluator that seeks to verify the trustworthiness of nationally-soliciting charities by completing rigorous evaluations based on 20 holistic standards that address charity governance, results reporting, finances, fundraising, appeal accuracy and other issues. National charity reports are produced by the BBB WGA and local charity reports are produced by local Better Business Bureaus – all reports are available at Give.org.
BBB WGA respects your privacy. BBB WGA operates GiveSafely.io to enable donors to secure their data, contribute to BBB Accredited Charities and receive rewards via charity experiences.
Information that BBB WGA Collects

Information provided by you when you register:
When you register as a donor on GiveSafely.io, we collect the following information:
- Username (required)
- Profile image (optional)
Your Username and profile image are saved in a general database protected by SSL encryption.
We use this information for the purposes of allowing you to log on to the site, make donations, and redeem rewards. And we will never share this information with anyone. - We do not collect your Account Key
When you register as a donor on givesafely.io, you automatically create a wallet on the Ardor Blockchain platform. This allows you to encrypt your data when sharing it with charities, and to receive and exchange GivingPoints for rewards.
When you register, you create and save an Account Key to access the wallet. We do not have access to this Account Key - no one but you does. We do not have the ability to retrieve it for you. The Account Key cannot be recovered or reset, so write it down and do not lose it.
If you give someone access to your Account Key they will have full access to your GivingPoints and the data tied to them.

Information that Your Chosen Charities Collect

1. When you donate:
When you donate you are given the option to share personal data in exchange for GivingPoints. Sharing your data is optional – only name and email address is required. We do not collect this information. The data entered is not received by us or stored by us. It is encrypted and uploaded by you directly to the blockchain (when you enter your Account Key) and tied to the GivingPoints you receive.
The data you upload is shared by you directly with the charity you are donating to. BBB WGA does not have access to this information. To access the data from the blockchain, the charity must enter their own Account Key. They then have access to the data.
Use: charities will use your information in accordance with their own privacy policies. All participating charities meet the 20 BBB Standards for Charity Accountability including Standard 18 on donor privacy. You can view all the Standards here.
Sharing: As a condition of using GiveSafely.io, each charity agrees that the data they receive as a result of their participation on the site cannot be shared, sold, rented or distributed to third parties.

2. When you redeem rewards:
When you redeem your GivingPoints for Rewards, you transfer the GivingPoints to the charity offering the rewards. We do not come in to contact with them. When the receiving charity enters their Account Key, they are able to access the data that you originally wrote to the blockchain during your donation. We do not receive or collect this information.
Use: charities will use your information in accordance with their own privacy policies. All participating charities meet the 20 BBB Standards for Charity Accountability including Standard 18 on donor privacy. You can view the Standards here.

Account Deletion
An individual can ask that their account be deleted at any time. Please contact us as described below to request deletion.

The website uses SSL encryption technology. Access to website data such as usernames is password-protected and limited to key staff.

Children
BBB WGA’s websites are not designed with the purpose of attracting any person under age 16. BBB NP does not knowingly collect or maintain any personal information from children under the age of 16. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under age 16, we will delete that information. Parents, if you believe your child has provided personal information to us, you can request that the information be deleted by contacting us as listed below.
