RedRover
RedRover brings animals from crisis to care through the following three programs:
RedRover Relief: We provide case management and financial assistance to help pet owners and Good Samaritans obtain urgent veterinary care for animals in life-threatening situations. We work with domestic violence shelters all over the country to provide emergency assistance with boarding and veterinary care, as well as grants to domestic violence shelters to fund on-site and off-site pet-housing programs appropriate to their needs, both of which enable domestic violence survivors and their pets to safely escape abusive environments together.
RedRover Responders: Our staff and trained volunteers shelter and care for animals displaced by natural disasters or rescued from large-scale cruelty situations. Volunteers give daily care and comfort to animals until they can be reunited with their owners, placed in foster care or adopted into new homes.
RedRover Readers: We help children explore the bond between people and animals through books, discussion and an animal-themed magazine called Kind News™. We encourage children to share information about animals, reflect on the roles of animals in their communities and determine our collective responsibilities toward them. When we engage children in these meaningful discussions, we help them develop empathy and critical thinking skills.
