BBB Wise Giving Alliance is a relatively small nonprofit organization devoted to helping donors make wise giving decisions and evaluating charities in relation to a set of ethical standards. When a charity does not meet standards, we help them improve their policies and practices. There is no charge to charities for these accountability assessments or consultations and the resulting reports are accessible for free to the public at Give.org.

We established a blockchain based donation platform at GiveSafely.io that enables donors to contribute cash or cryptocurrency securely to participating charities that meet our standards. When giving, a donor earns GivingPoints if they choose to share their data. These GivingPoints are later redeemable for experiences with charities who participate on the site.

All donor data lives on the blockchain, as do the GivingPoints. We receive no transaction fees from donations that are made using that platform and have no access to donor data. We want to encourage donors to give to and engage with trusted charities and we seek to introduce charities to crypto, and blockchain more generally.
